Protective Service Officer Weekend Shift

Position Summary: As a member of the St. John’s Protective Services Team, the Protective Services Officer provides safety and protection to residents, visitors, and employees. Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for service. Also conducts checks to ensure the safety of the facility and grounds. Responsibilities include:

• Performs all duties of a Protective Services Officer.
• Performs Patrols of Campus.
• Answers calls for Service.
• Investigates complaints.
• Responds to medical and fire alarms.
• Prepares logs and Reports.

Qualifications:                                             

• High School Diploma or GED   
• Associate's degree in Police Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field plus a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or 2 years of directly applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education preferred.
• Emergency Medical First Responder or E.M.T. / CPR-AED Certification preferred. 
• NYS Security Guard Card certification and experience required.     
• Valid NYS driver’s license with ability to meet agency driving standards required.    
• Basic computer knowledge.     
• At least 1 year of security or public safety work preferred.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
