The Emergency Department Concierge provides non-clinical support to patients, families, and staff from arrival through discharge or admission.
Job Details
Job Responsibilities:
- Welcome and round on patients and families in the ED, addressing comfort needs and providing updates on status from registration to discharge/admission.
- Facilitate communication between patients, families, and care teams.
- Offer non-clinical services such as warm blankets, pillows, and access to resources (e.g., phone chargers, social work, chaplain).
- Assist ED staff with answering call lights, addressing patient needs, and patient transport (as trained).
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to infection control and hospital standards.
- Identify and address service recovery opportunities; escalate issues when needed.
- Promote a culture of hospitality, respect, and excellent customer service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma required.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a fast-paced customer service environment (healthcare preferred).
- Previous patient care experience strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations; adaptable and solutions-oriented.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Personal qualities: compassionate, empathetic, approachable, positive, and professional.

Salary Range
USD $23.71 - USD $26.68 /Hr.
