Cabin Support Counselors
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to campers on their schedule, activity choices, and abiding camp rules.
- Assist campers at meal times, and in the cabin to ensure campers are maintaining health and hygiene practices such as showering, wearing clean clothes and getting appropriate sleep.
- Lead cabin activities, songs, and games that are engaging and age appropriate.
- Provide emotional and behavioral support to campers as needed by following behavior management techniques as outlined in the staff manual and during training.
- Support or lead instruction of assigned camp activities to campers.
- Ensure the safety of all campers when participating in camp activities.
Requirements
- Completed High School.
- A desire to positively impact the life of a child and willingness to put the needs of campers first.
- Have a passion for science, animals and childhood development.
- Able to effectively communicate ideas, thoughts and instructions in a constructive manner.
- Self-motivated and able to work on tasks and assigned goals with minimal supervision.
- Be willing to learn new concepts and skills.
- Able to work in a team and both give and take direction from others.
- Willingness to adhere to camp’s code of conduct, rules and policies.
Benefits
Starting pay $750 for 3 weeks. Additional $10 credit in camp store for snacks and supplies for each week at camp. Housing, meals, and laundry included. Weekend work is required, this position requires availability to work on-site 7 days a week for the contract period. Three 1-hour breaks provided each day, and 1 scheduled day off each week.
