2027 Dates

Staff Training: May 23 - June 5 (2 weeks)
Camp: June 6 - Aug 7 (9 weeks)


Specialty Instructors


Work cooperatively with fellow camp staff to provide a healthy, safe and enjoyable camp environment and experience for all campers. Specialty Instructors facilitate program activities during scheduled class times in an area of training or expertise. 

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide instruction of assigned camp activities to campers.
  • Manage camper behavior to ensure all campers are actively and positively participating.
  • Ensure the safety of all campers when participating in camp activities.
  • Keep program areas clean and supplies well maintained.
  • Provide emotional and behavioral support to campers as needed by following behavior management techniques as outlined in the staff manual and during training.
  • Follow all camp policies and procedures to ensure camper and staff health and safety.

Requirements

  • Completed at least 1 year of college education or equivalent experience.
  • A desire to positively impact the life of a child and willingness to put the needs of campers first.
  • Have a passion for science, animals, and childhood development.
  • Able to effectively communicate ideas, thoughts, and instructions in a constructive manner.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on tasks and assigned goals with minimal supervision.
  • Be willing to learn new concepts and skills.
  • Able to work in a team and both give and take direction from others.
  • Willingness to adhere to camp’s code of conduct, rules, and policies.


Benefits

Salary negotiable upon hire. Daily work hours and breaks vary depending on availability and camp needs. Minimum of 1-hour break per 8 hours of work each day. Meals included.
