Change & Adoption Lead – Software / CMS Implementation

About the Role

IgniteByte Digital is looking for an experienced Change & Adoption Lead to support the successful implementation and adoption of a redeveloped website and Content Management System (CMS) for our client.

This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring that CMS administrators, content editors and end users are ready to use the new platform effectively.

The successful candidate will lead user adoption, training, documentation, knowledge transfer and Go-Live readiness activities, working closely with the Business Analyst, CMS Developers, QA team, Project Manager and client stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Change Manager, Digital Adoption Specialist, Training Lead, Business Readiness Lead or Organisational Change professional with experience supporting software, digital platform or technology implementations.

Key Responsibilities

Change & Adoption

  • Develop and implement a practical change and user-adoption strategy for the new website and CMS.

  • Assess the impact of the new platform on users, roles, processes and workflows.

  • Identify adoption risks, resistance and knowledge gaps.

  • Develop and execute user-readiness activities leading up to Go-Live.

  • Support users through changes to business processes and digital workflows.

  • Monitor user adoption and identify areas requiring additional support.

Training & Enablement

  • Conduct training needs assessments for administrators, content managers and end users.

  • Develop and deliver administrator and end-user training.

  • Facilitate practical CMS demonstrations and workshops.

  • Develop training plans and coordinate training schedules.

  • Provide hands-on support during training and Go-Live.

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

  • Develop user manuals, SOPs, quick-reference guides and knowledge articles.

  • Create short screen-recorded training and how-to videos.

  • Establish self-service knowledge resources for ongoing user support.

  • Document key CMS processes and workflows.

  • Support knowledge transfer to the client's internal team.

Go-Live & Transition

  • Support business readiness and Go-Live preparation.

  • Coordinate training and stakeholder participation before Go-Live.

  • Provide user support during the transition to the new platform.

  • Identify and resolve training and adoption issues after Go-Live.

  • Support operational handover to the client's internal team.

  • Provide post-Go-Live adoption and knowledge-transfer support.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Business Analysts, CMS Developers, QA, Project Managers and client stakeholders.

  • Translate technical CMS functionality into simple, practical guidance for non-technical users.

  • Gather user feedback and communicate improvement opportunities to the project team.

Required Experience

  • 3+ years' experience in Change Management, Digital Adoption, Training, Business Readiness or Technology Implementation.

  • Experience supporting software, website, CMS, digital platform or technology projects.

  • Experience designing and delivering training for technical and non-technical users.

  • Experience developing user manuals, SOPs, training guides or knowledge-base content.

  • Experience facilitating workshops and knowledge-transfer sessions.

  • Experience supporting users through Go-Live and post-implementation adoption.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear and easy-to-understand user guidance.

  • Strong written, presentation and facilitation skills.

Advantageous Experience

Experience with one or more of the following would be advantageous:

  • CMS implementations

  • Website redevelopment projects

  • Digital transformation

  • Enterprise software implementation

  • Content management platforms

  • User adoption programmes

  • Business readiness

  • Digital workplace transformation

  • Training and enablement

  • Knowledge management

  • Prosci / ADKAR or another recognised change-management methodology

Qualifications

  • Degree, diploma or relevant professional qualification in Change Management, Business, Information Technology, Communications, Training, Organisational Development or a related field.

  • Prosci, ADKAR, CCMP or equivalent Change Management certification would be advantageous.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, practical and comfortable working directly with users.

You should be able to understand how a software platform works and turn that knowledge into effective:

Training → Documentation → User Adoption → Go-Live Readiness → Knowledge Transfer

You don't need to be a software developer, but you should be comfortable working alongside developers, Business Analysts and QA teams and communicating effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

Engagement

Location: Hybrid– Johannesburg / Sandton
Office attendance: Limited office attendance may be required; the role is primarily focused on project delivery and can largely be performed remotely.
