An international award-winning, multidisciplinary and multi-sector Group is seeking a Junior Accountant to join the finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting and financial administration functions of the organisation, ensuring that financial records are accurate, up to date, and properly maintained.

The role will provide support across key accounting functions, including invoicing, accounts payable and receivable, debtors’ collections, bank reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of basic accounting principles, be highly detail-oriented, and demonstrate strong organisational and numerical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately capture and maintain financial transactions on the accounting system Xero.
  • Prepare and process customer invoices accurately and timeously.
  • Assist with accounts payable and creditors administration.
  • Assist with accounts receivable and debtors administration.
  • Conduct regular debtor follow-ups and assist with outstanding payment collections.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies where required.
  • Assist with general ledger reconciliations and ensure that financial records are accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of VAT and assist with VAT-related accounting requirements.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions and records are processed accurately and in accordance with company procedures.


  • Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field

    1–2 years’ experience in an Accountant or similar role

    Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and relevant tax legislation

    Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial accounting systems

    Computer literacy (MS Excel, Word, MS Office)

    Xero

    Payroll processing

    SARS eFiling
