Job Summary:

The CNC Lathe & Mill Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining lathes and milling machines to ensure all job orders are machined to specification, and that all parts are inspected upon completion, in accordance with blueprints, quality standards, and production schedules. 


Essential Duties:

  • Set-up, operate, and adjust CNC Lathe Fanuc and milling machines independently to perform machining operations such as turning, drilling, boring, tapping, facing and milling.
  • Ability to update and create simple programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints without assistance
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job.
  • Perform first‑piece and in‑process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
  • Make minor machine adjustments and tool offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy.
  • Maintain quality standards and ensure parts meet tolerance and finish requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years of experience operating CNC lathes and milling machines (Fanuc preferred)
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
  • Ability to read blueprints and GD&T symbols
  • Proficient in using precision measurement tools.
  • Basic mathematical skills including fractions, decimals, and conversions.
  • Creativity and excellent problem-solving skills a must
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to hold fabrication tolerances at +/- .001 (or better) is a must
  • Basic computer skills
  • Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Regularly required to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, metal shavings, and varying temperatures.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.


Shift – 1st – Monday – Friday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm (Overtime as needed)
