VCA Mueller Pet Medical Center is adding a Registered Veterinary Technician to our ER team!Ā 

Location : 7625 Freeport Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95832Ā 

Schedule : FT 4/10sĀ 

Compensation : $ 29 - $ 35 /Ā hr (five dollar an hour shift diff depending on schedule)Ā

VCA Mueller Pet Medical Center is a 24-hour AAHA-accredited hybrid GP/ER hospital in Sacramento seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our growing Emergency & Critical Care team.Ā 

This position is ideal for an RVT who enjoys fast-paced medicine, critical thinking, inpatient care, and being part of a collaborative team that genuinely supports one another. Our RVTs are highlyĀ utilizedĀ and play an active role in emergency stabilization, triage, anesthesia, inpatient treatments, diagnostics, and critical patient care.Ā

We are looking for an experienced RVT who:Ā 

  • Thrives in a fast-paced emergency environmentĀ Ā 

  • Enjoys critical thinking and inpatient careĀ Ā 

  • Has strong technical and patient care skillsĀ Ā 

  • Works well independently while valuing teamwork and communicationĀ Ā 

  • Is adaptable, motivated, and eager to continue growing their skillsetĀ Ā 

PreviousĀ ER, ICU, anesthesia, urgent care, or high-volume veterinary experience is strongly preferred.Ā 

The ideal candidate is someone who can confidently step into a busy hospital environment while helping support efficient patient flow, high-quality medicine, and exceptional patient care.Ā 

WhatĀ You’llĀ DoĀ 

Our RVTs are actively involved in:Ā 

  • Emergency triage and patient stabilizationĀ Ā 

  • Inpatient and ICU treatments and monitoringĀ Ā 

  • Venipuncture and catheter placementĀ Ā 

  • Anesthesia induction and monitoringĀ Ā 

  • Laboratory and diagnostic supportĀ Ā 

  • Critical patient nursing careĀ Ā 

  • Client communication and educationĀ Ā 

  • Collaboration with DVMs across emergency, inpatient, and GP servicesĀ Ā 

Compensation & BenefitsĀ 

Compensation is based on experience, skillset, and credentialing, withĀ additionalĀ shift differentials available for swing and overnight coverage.Ā
