At SNAHC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $21.00/HR-$23.00/HR.   Position Summary: The School-Based Health Center Medical Assistant provides clinical, administrative, and operational support to the Grant Union High School-Based Health Center. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the SBHC MA works with providers, school staff, and community partners to deliver accessible, high-quality, student-centered healthcare.   *Role may need to float to other SNAHC locations   Essential Functions: Perform front office functions, including patient registration, enrollment, scheduling, insurance verification, phone support, appointment check-in/check-out, and maintenance of patient records and required documentation. Perform clinical duties within the scope of MA practice, including patient intake, vital signs, specimen collection, phlebotomy, immunizations, and assistance with patient care and clinical procedures. Support integrated behavioral health and medical care by coordinating patient referrals and collaborating with providers, school personnel, families, community partners, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team. Serve as the site Vaccines for Children (VFC) Coordinator, ensuring compliance with vaccine storage, inventory, ordering, reporting, and documentation requirements. Collaborate with school administration, faculty, and community partners to support student access, continuity of care, and overall student well-being. Plan, coordinate, and support school-based health programs, outreach activities, health education initiatives, immunization clinics, sports physical events, and other student wellness activities. Foster collaborative relationships with students, families, school personnel, community partners, and organizational staff to promote student access, continuity of care, and overall well-being. Maintain health center supplies, equipment, and inventory, and ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment. Maintain accurate documentation and protect patient confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies and applicable federal and state regulations. Participate in quality improvement activities, trainings, meetings, and other initiatives that support organizational goals and continuous improvement.   Competencies: Communication and Relationship Building Taking Initiative Planning and Organizing Safety Teamwork Staff Supervision and Development Clinical and Operational Issue Response Demonstrate the ability to work independently, prioritize competing responsibilities, and adapt to changing operational needs Perform other duties as assigned.   Competencies: Communication and Relationship Building Customer Service Teamwork and Collaboration Initiative and Accountability Planning and Organization Safety and Compliance Adaptability and Problem Solving QualificationsQualifications: The following education requirements are considered essential: High school graduate or equivalent required Medical Assistant Certification required Phlebotomy Certification preferred Knowledge of the services provided by medical, dental, and/or behavioral health facilities, including medical/dental terminology. Experience with electronic health records software, data entry systems, and appointment scheduling software. Proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Office products. Familiarity with Medi-Cal, Family Pact, Vaccines for Children (VFC), Child Health Disability Prevention (CHDP)programs, and knowledge of community supports and resources preferred.   Please Note: This position may be grant funded.  Continued employment is contingent upon renewed or additional funding and may be discontinued at the close of the grant cycle.  Grant funding for any position does not impart any contractual right, either expressed or implied, to remain in Sacramento Native American Health Center, Inc.’s employment for a specific period of time.  Grant funding does not affect the Sacramento Native American Health Center, Inc.’s status as an “at will” employer.
