Assist in creating a safe, fair and competitive environment for intramural sports leagues (soccer, flag football, basketball, softball), tournaments and other recreational activities.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Officiate games and enforce rules and policies in a consistent manner
Manage participant behavior and address conflicts professionally
Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment and activity spaces
Coordinate participant check-in and support timely game start
Inspect fields and courts to maintain safe playing conditions
Maintain and organize equipment
Respond promptly to injuries and on-site incidents

Qualifications

CHARACTERISTICS PREFERRED:

Communicates clearly and confidently when providing directions
Maintains professional boundaries with participants
Addresses and resolves conflicts effectively
Demonstrates sound judgment and timely decision-making
Provides friendly and patient customer service

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience officiating or participating in intramural sports or recreational activities
Leadership experience through sports, academics or extracurricular activities
Understanding of sportsmanship and team participation

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work in various weather conditions,
Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds
Ability to move throughout recreational spaces as needed and remain on feet for extended periods
