Job Description:

You’ll be responsible for building accurate, reliable pricing for manufactured products. This role focuses on modular mechanical systems like skids, racks, and packaged units, turning drawings and product definitions into real, executable costs.

Your work helps the business compete in external markets while making sure what’s sold can actually be built in the shop. This is manufacturing-focused estimating, centered on materials, labor, and overhead rather than full project scope.

What You’ll Be Part Of

You’ll work closely with sales, engineering, and shop leadership to connect product design with real-world cost and production.

  • Develop cost estimates for modular systems using drawings, BOMs, and product definitions

  • Build pricing that supports budgetary through firm proposals, including clear scope and assumptions

  • Partner with engineering and the shop to validate labor, fabrication methods, and manufacturability

  • Help create more consistency through templates, unit rates, and repeatable pricing approaches

  • Use feedback from actual production to improve estimate accuracy over time

You’ll also be part of conversations around make versus buy, standard versus custom, and how to price for different volumes as the business grows.

What We’re Looking For in You

  • Experience estimating manufactured or fabricated products

  • Strong understanding of shop labor, BOM-based costing, and overhead

  • Ability to read drawings and turn them into clear, buildable estimates

  • Comfortable working across sales, engineering, and operations

  • Familiarity with DFMA principles and product‑based estimating

  • Practical, detail-oriented mindset focused on real outcomes

  • Must be able to travel up to 10%

This role is for someone who wants their numbers to mean something. Someone who understands that a good estimate isn’t just accurate on paper, it works in the shop too.
