This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by improving their communication abilities and ensuring they can engage effectively with others. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in senior patients. - Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of each patient. - Provide direct therapy services to patients, focusing on improving speech, language, and communication skills. - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. - Educate patients and their families on communication strategies and techniques to support ongoing improvement. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient progress and treatment plans. - Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in speech therapy to continually enhance service delivery. - Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of best practices within the therapy department.QualificationsRequired Education: - Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. - Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of Michigan. Required Experience: - Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Speech Language Pathologist, preferably in a senior care or healthcare setting. - Proven track record of developing and implementing effective speech therapy programs for individuals with various speech, language, and swallowing disorders. - Experience in conducting assessments and creating individualized treatment plans.
