DuPont is seeking an Operations Leader for our Salisbury, NC site, which produces ArmorWall™ for the commercial construction business.  This facility currently operates on a 2 shift schedule M-F and continues to grow production 30% annually. 

The Operations Leader will serve as a key member of the operations support team, leading a team of approximately 20 employees responsible for providing daily technical expertise to enable safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance. This role leads short-term troubleshooting and corrective actions while driving longer-term process improvements and optimization across capacity, product quality, reliability of supply, capital improvements, process technology, and cost performance. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Understands all applicable process technology, equipment and control technology. 

  • Develop, and ensure adherence to, standard operating procedures, best practices, and safety protocols  

  • Troubleshoot operating issues to fix quality problems or improve production process. 

  • Participate in or lead Lean events, Kaizens, 5-Why investigations, and structured problem-solving activities. 

  • Understanding of the site’s Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures with the ability to implement in the plant. 

  • Understand and apply skills and knowledge in Process Control technology to ensure a safe and reliable operation 

  • Communicates technical information and issues to plant personnel and stakeholders outside of plant. 

  • Work with R&D and other technology subject matter experts to optimize plant performance. 

  • Support and/or Lead execution of CAPEX projects, including scope development, planning, engineering, installation, commissioning, start-up, and training. 

  • Provide off-shift support for continuous operations  

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • B.S. degree in Engineering in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or related fields. 

  • 3-5 years professional technical manufacturing experience 

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment 

  • Ability to integrate equipment, process and chemistry issues 

  • Strong technical, interpersonal, communication, and listening skills 

  • Results oriented/driven, good problem solving, and organizational skills 

  • Excellent computer and troubleshooting skills 

  • Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks 

  • Requires focus on data-based decision making, initiative, objective prioritization setting, and the drive to achieve results 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Lean Six Sigma training (Green Belt, Black Belt) 

  • Experience using SAP and interacting through HMI’s
