Job Description:
The Quality Inspector E performs advanced inspections of materials, equipment, electromechanical assemblies, and panel/module-level assemblies in support of new production and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations. This position evaluates product conformance through interpretation of drawings, specifications, diagrams, and related documentation, and makes acceptance or rejection determinations for in-process and final assemblies. The role also contributes to team capability by mentoring and training less experienced inspectors. Good attendance and punctuality are critical to success in this role, as consistent presence is essential to supporting production schedules, inspection flow, and overall quality objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform advanced in-process and final inspections on materials, mechanical assemblies, electromechanical assemblies, and electronic assemblies.
  • Inspect products and related documentation for compliance with L3Harris workmanship standards, engineering requirements, customer specifications, work instructions, control plans, and other applicable criteria.
  • Interpret drawings, diagrams, specifications, and parts lists to assess product conformance and determine acceptance status.
  • Ensure products and services meet company, customer, and regulatory quality requirements.
  • Independently determine inspection methods and procedures for new or non-routine assignments.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues, support investigations, and balance inspection priorities.
  • Apply industry workmanship standards, including IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620.
  • Support aerospace manufacturing inspection activities involving mechanical and electronic assemblies.
  • Execute and support First Article Inspection activities in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support implementation of process and product quality enhancements.
  • Apply corrective and preventive action principles, including root cause analysis, to support issue resolution.
  • Train and mentor new inspectors in inspection techniques, standards, and quality expectations.
  • Facilitate and coordinate work activities as directed by leadership.
  • Review and recommend updates to Inspection Control Plans for manufacturing numbers within the assigned area.
  • Use computer systems and Microsoft Office applications to document, track, and communicate inspection results.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and consistently report to work on time to support operational demands, production schedules, and team effectiveness.
