Job Description:

 

A high energy coordination role that requires leadership, project management and capacity planning expertise to effectively manage shared resources in support of numerous individual projects. This role works closely with multiple stakeholders and functional organizations to determine production needs, program risks, throughput variances, and corrective action plans. Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, coordination, negotiation, scheduling, and planning skills are essential for success.

Area Schedulers will conduct detailed analysis to identify production demand levels that significantly exceed or drop below normal capacity levels. Area Scheduling will develop plans to address variable product demand levels while working with manufacturing, test, inspection, and project management organizations to ensure factory success.

Area Scheduling will lead daily reviews on production schedule needs and any necessary mitigation plans associated with backlogs or underutilization.

Successful applicants will need to demonstrate leadership skills. Applicants must also be comfortable using leadership and advanced communication tactics to work through complex problems and conflicting demands to effectively represent multiple stakeholders.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and maintain production schedules for assigned areas ensuring alignment with overall project timelines.
  • Optimize schedules to achieve maximum efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, procurement, and quality control to ensure schedule adherence.
  • Communicate schedule updates and changes effectively to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in daily/weekly production meetings to review schedule progress and adjust as necessary.
  • Allocate resources efficiently to meet production targets and address any bottlenecks or constraints.
  • Identify and address any scheduling conflicts, delays, or disruptions in a timely manner.
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure continuity of operations.
  • Analyze production data to track performance against schedules and identify areas for improvement.
  • Generate and present regular reports on scheduling metrics, including on-time delivery, production efficiency, and resource utilization.
  • Evaluate and improve scheduling processes and systems to enhance productivity and efficiency.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Proven experience in capacity planning, master scheduling, or similar role.
  • Proficiency with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. 
  • Ability to handle sensitive materials (e.g., COMSEC) with a high level of discretion and compliance with regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and demonstrate ability to analyze data using graphs and pivot tables and present concerns and information to stakeholders.
  • Must be able to communicate with key stakeholders to understand and represent risks and opportunities.
