About this role
The Benefits Specialist understands Zachry’s total rewards strategy and supports the operations and administration of the employee benefits plans and programs. The specialist will provide guidance to employees covering a wide range of programs, including health and welfare, retirement, voluntary benefits and time off programs while working collaboratively with all areas of the business.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do in this role:


• Provide support and service to employees and internal partners in all areas of benefit programs, including health & welfare, retirement, voluntary benefits and time off programs by communicating with others through inbound and outbound calls, email or via chat feature in a professional manner.
• Maintain and demonstrate subject matter expertise knowledge of benefit programs, policies, processes, and regulatory requirements.
• Daily activities include, but are not limited to, taking direct calls from employees about Zachry’s benefit plans and programs, email correspondence, processing qualifying life events, reviewing dependent verification documents, processing qualified medical child support orders, and completing various forms.
• Support appeals and challenging employee situations.
• Identify trends and areas of opportunity and escalate to direct leader for long-term solutions.
• Perform complex administrative processes for various employee benefit programs in alignment with plan documents, processes, procedure documentation and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to ensure services are effectively delivered including drafting and updating process and procedural documentation, and identifying and recommending methods to update, simplify, and enhance those processes and/or procedures.
• Provide input into benefits programs including implementation, administration, communications, and education.
• Other duties as assigned.

What are the preferred skills for this role?
• 5 or more years of benefits experience.
• Speaks, reads and understands Spanish.
• College degree (education may be considered in lieu of experience)
