JOB DESCRIPTION

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Initiate machine process, adjust within process tolerance and recommend any changes for improved efficiencies to the Molding Process Engineer.
  • Continually monitor all processes related to injection molding.
  • Analyze and resolve any process problems.  Resolve any product non-conformity issues that may arise per quality standard.
  • Assist the Molding Process Engineer in the set-up and start-up of new tools and resins for trials.
  • Optimizing robot programs to minimize cycle time and adhere to gripper confirmation standards for injection molding process.

Environmental, Health & Safety:

  • Support the protection of the environment, personal safety, prevention of pollution and the continual improvement of the Environmental Management System.  
  • Providing leadership to Engineering team in preventing accident and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA/TCEQ standards.  This includes continuously monitoring the workplace for hazardous environmental, health, and safety conditions.
  • Ensure environmental, health and safety hazards are corrected, eliminated or guarded as related to Engineering team
  • Assisting in the investigation of accidents. 
  • Having the authority to: Stop and prevent unsafe actions; stop the use of unsafe equipment and tools, stop work and/or have employees leave the work area
  • Ability to participate in investigation of near misses and other environmental/safety-related incidents that have occurred
  • Ensure that all department related incident reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner

Customer Requirements:

Must understand and comply with all applicable Customer Specific Requirements (SQAM)

Qualification Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, the Injection Molding Process Technician must be able to perform each essential duty properly. Must have advanced analytics, mathematical and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Must have experience processing plastics and setting tools as well as knowledge of automation systems and controls.
  • 2 years minimum injection molding experience required. Experience with large tonnage injection molding (1500 ton +) is preferred.
  • Husky and Haitain machine experience is a plus.
  • Automotive injection molding experience is preferred.
  • Sepro and Husky robot programming is preferred.
