The Food Service Worker performs various jobs for patient food preparation.
Responsibilities
General Functions:
- Performs duties for patient tray preparation, retail sales and catering.
- Assembles patients’ trays.
- Chops, slices, and peels food
- Transports carts to and from the different units
- Delivers trays and snacks to the patient.
- Transport of food to other areas as needed.
- Washes pots and pans by hand and by machine
- Cleans and sanitizes dishes.
- Operates, cleans, and sanitizes necessary equipment.
- Sweeps and mops all areas of the department.
- Collects and disposes of trash.
- Stocks and cleans nourishment rooms/refrigerators as assigned.
- Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively.
- Maintains safe work environment.
- Addresses patient population-specific needs
- Participates in Performance Improvement activities.
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Able to read, write and understand the English language.Â
PREFERRED EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalentÂ
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year in patient-feeding food service establishmentÂ
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: ANSI Accredited Texas Food Handler or ANSI Accredited Food Manager course or Certified Food Manager from the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District.
