Description

San Diego based commercial services company is seeking an experienced Estimating & Project Coordinator to join our growing team.

About the Position

The Estimating & Project Coordinator is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys staying organized, working with both office and field teams, and wants to build a career in paving, concrete, and construction estimating.

In this role, you’ll help keep projects moving by coordinating the information, documentation, schedules, and materials our estimating and field teams need to be successful. You’ll work closely with estimators, clients, supervisors, office staff, our yard, and field crews, giving you broad exposure to how paving and concrete projects move from an initial request through estimating and into the field.

This position is designed for someone who has strong coordination skills and is interested in developing deeper estimating knowledge over time. As you grow in the role, you’ll have opportunities to learn more about measurements, takeoffs, job costing, pricing, and proposal development.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate next-day work orders and project information so field crews have the documentation and materials needed for scheduled work.
  • Prepare and organize project materials including photos, site maps, field forms, signs, cones, and other job-specific information.
  • Enter and maintain project information in Sage and support accurate records from the initial RFP through project completion.
  • Review incoming RFPs and help track bid opportunities, deadlines, project details, and missing information.
  • Support estimators by coordinating information for site visits, client meetings, measurements, photos, maps, and field observations.
  • Communicate project and scheduling information among clients, estimators, supervisors, office staff, the yard, and field crews.
  • Help ensure project completion information and follow-up are communicated accurately and on time.
  • Learn the fundamentals of paving and concrete estimating, including takeoffs, job costing, measurements, pricing, and proposals.
  • Take on additional estimating responsibilities as your knowledge and experience grow.

Requirements

About You

You’re organized, dependable, and someone who likes keeping a lot of moving pieces on track. You pay attention to details, follow through on commitments, and understand that getting accurate information to the right people at the right time can make a major difference in the success of a project.

You’re also comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change. You enjoy collaborating with different teams and aren’t afraid to ask questions, learn new systems, or spend time in the field to better understand the work.

You may already have some exposure to construction, paving, concrete, estimating, or project coordination—or you may have strong operational coordination experience and want an opportunity to develop within the industry.

You’ll bring:

  • Typically requires at least 1 year of related experience with an applicable vocational or trade school certification desired.
  • Experience with construction, paving, concrete, estimating, project coordination, or similar operational support is preferred.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Basic computer and technology skills; experience with Microsoft Office and Sage is preferred.
  • The ability and willingness to work in both office and field environments.
