POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a Senior Payments Strategist to support the Sony Engagement Platform, helping Sony operating companies consume SIE's payment orchestration capabilities and related commerce services globally. This senior individual contributor roleĀ calls for a payments specialist who canĀ operateĀ independently across complex internal and external stakeholder groups, translate business needs into practical payment strategies, and support onboarding,Ā payment provider and payment methodĀ enablement, paymentĀ optimizationĀ and operational performance.Ā Ā
The role will include relationship ownership for assigned SonyĀ operatingĀ companies,Ā serving as the primary payments point of contact within SEPS,Ā acting as a trusted payments partner who understands their commercial priorities, payment needs, operationalĀ challengesĀ and roadmap requirements. The successful candidate will work closely withĀ SIEĀ Global Payments, Sony Engagement Platform, product, engineering, risk,Ā fraudĀ and regional business teams toĀ identifyĀ opportunities, shape requirements and help ensure services are commerciallyĀ viable, operationally scalable and aligned to operating company needs.Ā

JOB RESPONSIBILITIESĀ
Work closely with Sony Engagement Platform stakeholders,Ā SIE Global Payments,Ā Sony operatingĀ companiesĀ and the external payment ecosystem to define forward-looking payment initiatives and translate operating company needs into scalable platform priorities.Ā
Act as the payments relationship owner for assigned SonyĀ operatingĀ companies, maintaining a clear understanding of their paymentĀ objectives, operational needs, commercialĀ prioritiesĀ and roadmap requirements.Ā
Support onboarding and readiness for Sony operating companies, including initial payment assessments, payment method requirements, PSP/APM setup, operationalĀ readinessĀ and repeatable configuration patterns.Ā
Develop andĀ maintainĀ payment success plans for assignedĀ operatingĀ companies, covering onboarding status, optimisation opportunities, risks, decisions, roadmapĀ dependenciesĀ and open actions.Ā
Partner with payments analysts to interpret payment performance, conversion,Ā costĀ and operational data, turning insights into practical recommendations for Sony operating companies and internal stakeholders.Ā
Lead regular payment performance discussions and service reviews, ensuring opportunities, risks,Ā decisionsĀ and follow-up actions are clearly captured and progressed.Ā
Coordinate payment-related escalations across operating companies,Ā PSPsĀ and internal Sony teams, ensuring issues are prioritised, communicatedĀ clearlyĀ and driven to resolution.Ā
IdentifyĀ and advocate for payment optimisation opportunities, from tactical improvements that can deliver immediate gains to longer-term initiatives requiring product,Ā platformĀ or engineering investment.Ā
Represent the voice of Sony operating companies within Sony Engagement Platform planning, helping product, engineering and operations teams understand payment needs and prioritise platform improvements.Ā
Collaborate with fraud,Ā dataĀ scienceĀ and platform teams where payment strategy intersects with risk decisioning, chargebacks, 3DS, refunds or payment feedback-loop data.Ā
Operate independently and confidently with external parties across theĀ paymentsĀ ecosystem, including PSPs, card networks, acquirers,Ā issuersĀ and payment method providers.Ā
Occasional domestic or international travel may beĀ requiredĀ for team collaboration, onboarding or partner meetings.Ā
Flexibility to accommodate meetings with global colleagues and partners across time zones is expected.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITIONĀ
Your qualifications and experience should include:āÆĀ
7+ years of diverse payments experience in a digital ecommerce environment with demonstrable results.Ā
Experience in payment optimisation, complex payments contracting, PSPĀ and payment methodĀ management and payment operations.Ā
Strong commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret payment data and present clear, actionable recommendations.Ā
Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships across internal teams, externalĀ partnersĀ or enterprise customers.Ā
ProficiencyĀ using approved AI tools to accelerate analysis,Ā identifyĀ patterns, synthesise complex inputs and develop clear recommendations, whileĀ validatingĀ outputs and applyingĀ appropriate judgementĀ around data sensitivity.Ā
Understanding of cultural and regional differences in attitudes towards online payment systems.Ā
Network of industry relationships including processors, acquirers, card schemes, alternative paymentĀ providersĀ and like-minded merchants with similar priorities.Ā
