RMC is seeking a Senior SolarWinds Systems Engineer to support a U.S. Navy customer. This role directly supports national defense missions through the engineering, deployment, and optimization of enterprise SolarWinds monitoring capabilities. The selected candidate will lead the design and modernization of monitoring solutions across datacenter, automation, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, configure, and maintain SolarWinds Orion Platform products, including NPM, SAM, NCM, SRM, IPAM, WPM, NTA, and VMAN.
  • Engineer scalable monitoring solutions for enterprise networks and hybrid datacenter environments.
  • Integrate SolarWinds with Splunk, VMware, Windows Server, Linux, and related technologies.
  • Troubleshoot platform performance, configuration, and enterprise monitoring issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, and solution guides.
  • Deliver training and knowledge transfer to operations and engineering teams.
  • Serve as the SolarWinds subject-matter expert for platform strategy, capability development, and lifecycle optimization.
  • Collaborate on-site with Government stakeholders at least two days per week, with additional on-site support as required by the customer.
  • 5+ years supporting enterprise datacenter monitoring, automation, and Windows Server infrastructure.
  • 3+ years engineering, implementing, and maintaining SolarWinds Orion Platform products and enterprise-scale IT infrastructure.
  • 2+ years supporting infrastructure, monitoring, or datacenter operations.
  • Experience designing, securing, installing, troubleshooting, and documenting integrated server and network solutions.
  • Active Secret clearance or higher is required at application.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • DoD IAT Level II compliant, including an approved IA certification (e.g., Security+ CE) and applicable Operating Environment certification.
  • Ability to work on-site at least two days per week and travel OCONUS up to three times annually for 1–3 weeks per trip.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with enterprise server, storage, network, and software platforms.
  • Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Python and PowerShell automation experience.
  • Network engineering or enterprise network operations experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
  • CASP+ or CISSP certification.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $115,000 to $140,000 (annually).
