Company Description

Lightsage builds infrastructure for the emerging agent economy, helping organizations track, benchmark, and improve how coding agents discover and use their APIs, CLIs, and MCP integrations. The platform is used by enterprises and high-growth startups to become the default tools recommended by software agents. Lightsage focuses on agent experience and measurable impact on developer and product adoption, with more information available at lightsage.com. The team also created DevToolArena.com, a public benchmark that ranks developer tools across areas like authentication, inference, and voice using Claude Code and Codex. Joining Lightsage offers the opportunity to shape how agent-led growth and developer tooling evolve in a rapidly changing ecosystem.

Role Description

As the Founding Growth hire at Lightsage, you will make Lightsage the place developer-tool companies go to understand how coding agents see their products. You'll own DevToolArena.com as a growth channel: publishing new benchmark categories and leaderboard results, writing about what we learn from watching agents like Claude Code and Codex use APIs, CLIs and MCP servers, and getting that work in front of developers and devtool teams. You'll also lead developer relations: building relationships with DevRel and developer-experience leaders, and running launches, talks and community programs that turn attention into pipeline for sales. You'll own the website, SEO and the experiments behind signups and inbound demand.

Requirements

  • Experience in growth, developer relations or developer marketing at a developer-tool, API or infrastructure company

  • Technical enough to build demos, read API docs and run coding agents yourself

  • Strong technical writing and a public portfolio (posts, talks, open-source work or videos)

  • Measures your work and runs experiments on content, channels and conversion

  • An existing network in the devtool or AI-agent community is a plus

  • Prior early-stage startup experience is a plus

This is a full-time, on-site role based in San Francisco, CA.
