The Role:
As our Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering a high-quality data platform responsible for maintaining and distributing Forge data to both internal and external clients. You will also improve and maintain internal user interfaces that interact with this data.
Location: This role requires 2-3 days a week in office in San Francisco, CA.
In this role, you will:
- Implement new features and maintain existing ones
- Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and production deployments
- Work within agile methodologies to ensure efficient delivery
You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to define requirements clearly and deliver changes in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions
- Implement software solutions in line with given estimates
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and advocate for their adoption
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in development using object-oriented languages such as TypeScript, C#, or Java
- Experience with scripting languages like Python for data-related tasks
- Experience with front-end frameworks such as React and Tailwind CSS
- Familiarity with modern data architectures (e.g., Medallion architecture, Data Lakes)
- Experience in Private Markets or Financial Services, particularly with financial market data
- Proven expertise in:
- CI/CD pipeline setup
- Data orchestration
- Application deployment
- Code quality assurance
- Strong project management skills, taking initiatives from planning through deployment with hands-on coding across backend and frontend
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL, SQL queries, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Extensive experience with version control systems like Git and platforms like GitHub
- Familiarity with Agile tools such as JIRA or similar
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience migrating systems from legacy architectures to modern tech stacks
- Knowledge of real-time data processing and event-driven architectures (e.g., WebSockets, Kafka)
- Experience leading offshore and nearshore teams
- Experience working with large language models (LLMs) and agent-based workflows
For residents of San Francisco, CA the annual salary range for this role is $200,000-$230,000 annual bonus. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, bonus, and other factors
