Summary:Ā Ā  Ā Ā Responsible for teaching seniors to use computers, smart devices, and the Internet at SF Connected Technology Labs throughout San Francisco and through virtual programming. Ā 

Essential Functions:

⦁ Conducts training and workshops for seniors to learn to use computers, smart devices, and the Internet safely; answers computer and technology-related questions.

⦁ Conducts classroom-style lectures with groups of students as needed.

⦁ Prepares and maintains lab area, equipment, materials for training and workshops, and lab or virtual programming preparation.

⦁ Operates and maintains audiovisual equipment; maintains computers in the lab; and assists students with using hardware and software.

⦁ Maintains training and workshop schedules and attendance records.

⦁ Assists with client outreach to meet the program’s goals.

⦁ Maintains assigned client list for submittal to the clientele database.

⦁ Attends meetings and training as assigned.

⦁ Responds to and acknowledges emails and notices promptly. 

⦁ Participates in the Quality Assurance protocols as directed.

⦁ Performs other duties as assigned.                                         

Qualifications:

⦁ Must have a high school diploma; teaching and training experience preferred.

⦁ Current working knowledge of PC technology/equipment, smartphones, tablet computers, MS Office software applications, the Internet, online communication, and social media platforms.

⦁ Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with older adults and individuals from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Ability to effectively instruct senior learners on basic computer use and online programs using PC platforms or other personal computing devices.

⦁ Bilingual and bi-literate in English and Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin), Russian, or Spanish is preferred. 

⦁ Must be available to work at least three days a week.

⦁ Must be self-motivated, patient, detail-oriented, and able to follow through.

⦁ Must be able to travel via public transportation or personal/department vehicle to perform job duties. If driving, must have and maintain a valid CA driver license, satisfactory driving record, and auto insurance coverage as specified in Self-Help’s policy.
