About the Role:

B&Z Manufacturing Company Inc is looking for a detail-oriented Machine Shop Inspector to join our team in San Jose, CA. This is a critical role where your precision and expertise will ensure our manufactured parts and components meet the highest quality standards. Responsibilities:

Inspect machined parts and components for dimensional accuracy using precision measuring instruments
Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on machined parts per engineering drawings and specifications
Utilize tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment to verify tolerances
Document inspection results, maintain quality records, and generate non-conformance reports (NCRs)
Collaborate with machinists and production teams to identify and resolve quality issues
Interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and engineering blueprints
Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve production quality

Requirements:

2+ years of experience in quality inspection within a machine shop or manufacturing environment
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols
Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation is a plus
Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems preferred
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training preferred
Zeiss CMM experiance a plus.
