OVERVIEW 

Veeco is expanding the capability of its manufacturing workforce as semiconductor systems become more complex and training requirements continue to grow. In this role, you will build and scale technical learning programs that enable employees to perform safely, consistently, and confidently across manufacturing, systems, and product environments. You will partner closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations subject matter experts to translate technical expertise into structured learning experiences that accelerate proficiency and support career growth. Your work will shape the foundation of Veeco’s technical training strategy, from new-hire onboarding through advanced role-based development. 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Lead end-to-end curriculum development initiatives, including training needs assessment, competency mapping, learning path design, content creation, pilot delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and transform complex technical concepts into engaging, role-based training programs.
  • Build structured training curricula covering manufacturing processes, semiconductor equipment, system architecture, and hardware and software interactions.
  • Develop onboarding, new product introduction, cross-training, certification, and career development programs that improve workforce readiness and operational performance.
  • Establish measurable training outcomes and evaluate program effectiveness using knowledge assessments, skills validation, learner feedback, and business performance indicators.
  • Modernize legacy training content and create scalable learning assets that support instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced learning environments.
  • Maintain training documentation, learning management system content, and curriculum governance processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Education, Instructional Design, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 6+ years with a Master’s degree.
  • Experience developing technical training programs within semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, industrial equipment, or a comparable technical environment.
  • Experience designing and implementing curriculum, certification, or workforce development programs.
  • Experience delivering instructor-led technical training to manufacturing, engineering, or field service audiences. 

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • Skilled in curriculum architecture, learning path design, and competency-based training program development.
  • Expertise applying instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE, SAM, or comparable frameworks.
  • Ability to conduct training needs analyses and identify capability gaps that affect business performance.
  • Skilled at translating complex engineering and manufacturing concepts into clear, actionable learning experiences.
  • Experience establishing training effectiveness measures using Kirkpatrick or comparable evaluation approaches.
  • Ability to build credibility and influence across engineering, manufacturing, operations, and quality organizations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, learning management systems, and digital content development tools. 


Salary and Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is $113,000 - $144,000, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
