Activity Director (Part-Time)

Pacific Coast Post Acute

Pay Range: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour

Benefits: Benefits are available to full-time employees only.


Position Summary

Pacific Coast Post Acute is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Director to plan, coordinate, and oversee resident-centered activities that promote the physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being of our residents. The Activity Director will ensure the facility's activity program meets federal, state, local, and company regulations while enhancing residents' quality of life through meaningful engagement and individualized programming.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive activity program tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and needs.
  • Develop and maintain monthly activity calendars, including group activities, special events, community outings, and individualized in-room programs.
  • Encourage resident participation in activities, hobbies, crafts, reading programs, and other recreational opportunities.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement resident care plans and activity assessments.
  • Maintain accurate and timely activity documentation, including progress notes and participation records.
  • Foster positive communication with residents, families, staff, volunteers, and community organizations.
  • Participate in resident and family council meetings, quality assurance initiatives, care conferences, and department meetings.
  • Assist with transportation arrangements for resident outings, appointments, and other activity-related needs when necessary.
  • Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations governing long-term care activity programs.
  • Participate in facility surveys and assist with corrective action plans as needed.
  • Support efforts to improve resident satisfaction and quality of life throughout the facility.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising activity department staff and volunteers.
  • Help coordinate schedules, assignments, and activity program operations as directed.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Activity Director Certification required.
  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, assisted living community, or long-term care setting preferred.
  • Experience planning recreational, social, or therapeutic activities is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Basic computer skills and documentation abilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • Must possess sufficient visual and auditory abilities to perform job duties safely and effectively.

Work Environment

The work environment is typically a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting with a moderate noise level. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
