CURRENT OPENING:

Maintenance Technician - Scarborough (with some travel to MA as needed)

This position works out of Scarborough, ME but is also responsible for some maintenance at our Devens, MA facility so some travel is required.

$23-$38/hour

Summary/Objective

The Maintenance Technician will diagnose, repair, install, adjust, and maintain industrial paper converting equipment systems. May also install, dismantle, or move machinery and heavy equipment according to plans. This position may also be responsible for forklift repair. 

Essential Functions

  • Diagnose, repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial paper converting machinery or equipment.
  • Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.
  • Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.
  • Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines and forklifts.
  • Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
  • Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
  • Orders and installs replacement parts for machines.
  • Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
  • Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.
  • Prepares reports documenting work performed.
  • Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies. 
  • Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

 Required Skills/Abilities

  • Mechanically inclined with great problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Reliable and self-motivated.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Safety conscious.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. 

Education/Experience

  • Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required.
