Academic, social, employment, and functional skills are taught to each student as driven by their Individual Educational Plan (IEP), needs, and interests. Who We Are Looking For:   An energetic Teacher Assistant Substitute who can engage with our students positively and  embraces our mission of “strengthening the well-being of people with disabilities and their families through innovative supports.”    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  Assists students, individually or in groups, with specialized instructional programs prepared by the teacher to present or reinforce learning concepts.   Works with teachers to develop and use available instructional resources, materials and equipment appropriate to planned learning programs for students.   Helps monitor of students' activities in the halls and cafeteria, on the playground and during arrival and dismissal periods.     Attends to the physical needs of students such as helping with clothing, or attending to personal hygiene and toilet habits as needed.   Learns and uses behavior management strategies to increase students' participation in the educational program.   QualificationsOther Requirements: This position requires 2 weeks of orientation/training. Ability to pass CALM training.
