Responsibilities

Via Linda Behavioral Hospital is an innovative behavioral health hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services to the people of Scottsdale and the greater Phoenix, Arizona metro area. Our 120-bed facility will offer specialized mental health services and substance use treatment for teens, adults and older adults experiencing issues such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders and co-occurring addictions.

The Chaplain functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients depending on which unit workedThe Chaplain utilizes clinical and pastoral skills to assist the treatment team in giving care to patientsSpecial focus is given to developing the religious resources of each patient in the healing process. 


Qualifications

Education: Degree from an accredited college or university in Biblical or Religious counseling/studies preferred. 

Minimum Experience:  Past experience in pastoral or ministry field required. One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness and chemical dependency preferred.   

Special/ Other Skills:  Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/ CPR certification and current behavioral and verbal de-escalation training, per facility protocol, must be completed prior to beginning work. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime. Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
