This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Originās Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.As part of a hardworking team of spacecraft development engineers, you willĀ contribute to theĀ systems engineering activities for the Guidance Navigation and Control (GN&C) subsystem and its components. Your responsibilities will include derivation and development of subsystem requirements, performing analyses and trade studies toĀ validateĀ requirements, andĀ maintainingĀ subsystem specification, budgets, and performance metrics. You will collaborate with the vehicle systems engineering, propulsion, structures, and dynamics teams to ensure design coordination to meet the vehicle performance deliverables. You will need to be able to communicate technical information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.Ā

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop GN&C requirements with flow downs toĀ componentĀ levels and companion verification methods. Support system and subsystem analyses needed to develop requirementsĀ
Manage technical budgets and performance metricsĀ
Collaborate with other subsystems and spacecraft systems engineers to define subsystem boundaries and interfacesĀ
Perform analyses, simulations, and tests (includingĀ componentĀ and hardware-in-the-loop) to verifyĀ componentĀ and subsystem specifications and requirementsĀ
DevelopĀ verification and validationĀ plansĀ to ensure software and hardware components, and the integrated subsystem will perform as specified to meet system and subsystem requirementsĀ
Support the definition, development, and execution of simulations and tools necessary for verification of subsystem functionalities.Ā
SupportĀ providingĀ updates to schedule, resources, cost, and risksĀ
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering or related subject areasĀ
Experience in full development lifecycle of GN&C subsystem on at least one aerospace programĀ
Experience in the development and analysis of GN&C algorithmsĀ
Demonstrated experience in development and testing of navigation sensors and control actuatorsĀ
Demonstrated experience in implementation and testing of GN&C software and hardwareĀ
Solid system engineering and configuration management skillsĀ
Excellent written and verbal communication skillsĀ
Highly organized and capable of planning and guiding complex technical workĀ
Ability to perform in a dynamic, fast-paced, and driven work environmentĀ
Ability to earn trust and maintainĀ positive and professional relationships
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Ā
Preferred Qualifications
M.S. or Ph.D. in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering or related subject areasĀ
10 or more years of design experienceĀ
Demonstrated experience leading full development lifecycle of GN&C subsystem in at least one aerospace programĀ
Demonstrated advanced knowledge in the development of planetary spacecraft GN&C systemsĀ
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with development of descent and landing software for planetary missionsĀ
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Rendezvous and Proximity Operations and DockingĀ

Base Pay Range for:
CO applicants is $144,179.00 - $201,849.90 WA applicants is $156,802.00 - $219,522.45Other site ranges may differ
