This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

AsĀ part ofĀ the New Glenn SEITĀ System Engineering Center (SEC), you will manage a small teamĀ thatĀ provides guidance and process control to the New Glenn program.Ā Ā Scope of the SEIT-SEC is toĀ developĀ processes and products for the design ofĀ the New GlennĀ orbital launch vehiclesĀ systemĀ and facilities. You must have a passion for mission assurance, a commitment to the fundamentals of system safety,Ā system engineering, tools developmentĀ forĀ system engineering needs;Ā and a strong capacity to work collaboratively on complex and interesting new problemsĀ across the entire New Glenn Program.Ā Ā

QUALIFICATIONS:Ā 

RequiredĀ 

  • Minimum of a B.S.Ā degree in aerospace engineering or related fieldĀ 

  • 10+Ā years engineering experience in the aerospaceĀ or engineeringĀ industryĀ 

  • 3+Ā management experience in a large development program at the system/program levelĀ 

  • Experience with large development programs culture and risk postureĀ 

  • EnjoysĀ a highly dynamic and fast paced environmentĀ 

  • Experienced with process development for system engineering,Ā system safety, and related tools processes such as IBM JAZZ,Ā ISOGraph, andĀ WindchillĀ tools.Ā 

  • Experienced with rapidly streamlining implementation processes for a development environmentĀ 

  • Experience in at least one of the areas of analysis, design, or integrated testingĀ 

  • Possess skills in strategic system thinking, excellent written and oral communication skills, proactive in moving program forward through team collaborations to achieve timely decisions, ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a collaborative.Ā 

  • Experience with mentoring and coachingĀ engineersĀ onĀ system engineering practicesĀ and system safety practicesĀ 

  • Experienced in workingĀ cross discipline teams and including analysis, design,Ā configuration,Ā and certification teams.Ā 

  • Experienced withĀ working with external regulatory government entities like the FAA and Space Force RangeĀ 

  • Experience with development and reporting ofĀ metrics.Ā 

  • Participate in actively maintaining a healthy system engineering and working cultureĀ 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programsĀ 

  • Have fundamentalĀ skillsĀ ofĀ management ofĀ system engineering and engineering data.Ā Ā

  • Process ownership and maintenance experienceĀ 

  • Experience with configuration management in aerospace or other complex engineering environmentsĀ 

  • Knowledge of requirements management and traceability tools and methodologiesĀ 

  • Experience with database management and data governanceĀ 

  • Certification in configuration management (e.g., CMII)Ā 

  • Experience with DevOps practices and toolsĀ 

  • Background in implementing and maintaining enterprise software solutionsĀ 

  • Experience with IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management tools, particularly JAZZ platform applicationsĀ 

  • Experience withĀ EIA-649C and implementing the principlesĀ of configuration managementĀ

WA applicants is $183,807.00 - $257,328.75

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
