Job Description

The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences within the UW School of Medicine currently has an outstanding opportunity for Part Time Continuing Education Specialist 4 to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

Implementation Support and Technical Assistance Delivery – 70%: 

• Facilitate or co-facilitate professional technical assistance consultation sessions aligned with the Pacific West Hub’s technical assistance (TA) goals.
• Provide tailored, project and/or site-specific coaching to implementation teams using implementation science best practices.
• Engage in collaborative problem-solving with partners to address barriers to effective service delivery.
• Respond to and triage TA inquiries by assessing feasibility, timeline, and alignment with Hub priorities.
• Lead or co-lead feasibility assessments, scope clarification, and identification of deliverables and timelines.
• Develop TA workplans and project scopes in collaboration with Hub Co-Directors and CMHIS leadership.
• Represent the Pacific West Hub in national workgroups and contribute to CMHIS-wide TA efforts.
• Maintain positive working relationships with partnering organizations and consultants.
• Collaborate with CMHIS team members and faculty to ensure consistent, high-quality consultation and project execution.

Content, Curricula, and Project Design – 20%

• Lead the planning and coordination of curriculum development and enhancement for diverse stakeholder groups, including clinicians, supervisors, administrators, and system leaders.
• Develop training content, learning objectives, and conduct needs assessments.
• Deliver training to national and community-based healthcare organizations and other partners.
• Contribute to CMHIS-wide initiatives to advance best practices in curriculum development, including identifying emerging implementation challenges and gaps in training resources.
• Assist in creating content for communication efforts, including newsletters, presentations, and other outreach materials.

Project Management – 10%

• Develop and manage project work plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful execution of TA activities.
• Monitor progress, address challenges, and coordinate contributions from internal and external partners.
• Support evaluation activities by contributing to data collection, analysis, and reporting on project progress and outcomes.
• Attend weekly internal team meetings to support coordination, planning, and continuous improvement of Hub activities.
• Maintain documentation and reporting aligned with grant requirements and organizational standards.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants who do not meet these qualifications WILL NOT be forwarded to the Hiring Department.

• A Master's degree in Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, Counseling, AND a minimum of 3 years of experience related to substance use disorder treatment, including 2 years of clinical training and/or experience in direct delivery of health services for populations that include persons with substance use disorders.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Desired

• Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and providing targeted and intensive technical assistance in the behavioral health field, including experience implementing evidence-based practices and related interventions,to include clinical experience delivering behavioral health interventions and/or services.
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and internet-based applications.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision, represent the University in a variety of settings, and travel occasionally.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and make sound decisions in ambiguous or complex situations.
