This is a full-time summer internship position with the ability to extend to part-time hours during the school year. The legal intern will support the Port’s Legal Department on a wide array of legal projects and tasks.

Some of your essential duties include:

  • Carry out legal research projects, draft legal memoranda and other documents, assist in document production for litigation or public disclosure, attend meetings and hearings with attorneys, perform other assistance as necessary, and carry out legislative history research.   
  • Along with state, federal and constitutional law issues, the intern may work on projects related to real estate, contracts, procurement, construction, employment, labor, land use, environmental, airport, and maritime law. 
  • If the Port deems it desirable, the internship may be extended through the intern’s third law school year, with the expected work at 12-20 hours per week with a hybrid work schedule.


  • A Student - You must be currently enrolled and have completed (or nearing) the conclusion of your second year of studies in an accredited law school.
