Delaware North Sportservice is searching a part-time experienced Lead Cook to join our team at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. As a Lead Cook, you will be a visible leader in the kitchen, working with the team to deliver food to quality standards, monitor the quantities, labor, and overhead costs.

Unit Description
Delaware North manages food and beverage services at Climate Pledge Arena, home of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken, WNBA’s Seattle Storm, and premier live music and entertainment. The 740,000-square-foot, renewable energy-powered building is the first net zero-certified arena in the world! Delaware North’s Climate Collective offers the most locally focused, sustainable menu in the sports and entertainment industry.
Responsibilities
- Lead the work of kitchen assistants in preparing, cooking, and storing food, as well as in maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary conditions
- Comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures
- Ensure proper food temperatures are maintained and food is stored correctly
- Ensure freshness and quality of all menu items and packages all products to proper specifications
- Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed and according to company guidelines
- Follow and uphold all health codes and sanitation regulations
- Complete end-of-day inventory and other opening and closing duties in accordance with company checklists and procedures
Qualifications
- 2 or more years of previous experience in a culinary service role is required
- Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes
- Basic math skills; ability to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions
- Verbal communication skills to lead the work of kitchen assistants
Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, whip, etc. a variety of foods and liquidsÂ
- Ability to lift and carry large pans from ovens or freezers, weighing up to 50 lbsÂ
- Standing and walking for the entire length of shift
- Frequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at the waist, bending and squatting
- Pushing and pulling occasionally, to move equipment, mops, and brooms
