About the Role:

Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle is currently recruiting for an Assistant Golf Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. 

Responsibilities

The assistant varsity golf coach, reporting to the Golf Program Head, will join an athletics program that includes 26 varsity teams, most of which have both sub-varsity and middle-school counterparts. The golf program includes two varsity teams (boys and girls) and two JV teams (boys and girls). The assistant varsity golf coach will be responsible for coaching duties with the varsity teams and supporting the JV program, as well as other program-wide duties as assigned by the golf program head. Specific responsibilities include: 

  1. Compliance with all Lakeside School, Metro League, and WIAA policies and procedures.
  2. Commitment to providing support, messaging, actions, and opportunities to a diverse student body who come to school with different and evolving lived experiences and levels of preparation as athletes.
  3. Supervision and instruction of student-athletes during team activities.
  4. Attendance at required program and interscholastic athletics program meetings.
  5. Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes.
  6. Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes.

Requirements and Qualifications

  1. At least 25 years of age with a clean driving record.  
  2. Be available for all practices and competitions from 3 pm daily during their coaching season with availability on weekends as required. Post-season matches require full-day commitments for several days over three weeks. 
  3. Experience coaching tennis teams at the club, high school or college level is required.
  4. Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions. Candidates will understand different perspectives, interact respectfully with cultures other than their own, and cultivate meaningful relationships with people who have different cultural frameworks.   
  5. Possess or obtain prior to the start of the season current First Aid/CPR certification. 
  6. Satisfactorily complete two criminal background checks.

Compensation and Benefits
Stipend range: $3,250-$3,300
We offer a stipend schedule that compares favorably with peer schools and clubs both locally and nationally. Coaching stipends are paid in monthly installments during the primary competition seasons. Other benefits include Lakeside Athletics apparel and access to funds for professional development.
