The Center for Active Living Associates shall be responsible for supporting the Center for Active Living Director and all programming within the center to ensure that all services achieve quality performance outcomes.   OUR CULTURE:   Our mission and core values are brought to life by our culture. Regularly inventories materials and reports needed items to the CAL Director. Assists in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the CAL. Expected to assist in reporting of exercise programs, clubs, congregate dining, etc. Responsible for assuring high standards of program quality and safety in accordance with YMCA safety and risk management policies.  Follow all policies and procedures as set forth in the employee handbook, department handbook, and emergency response plan manual.  Motivate and engage participants and volunteers to increase retention and understanding of our programming. Lead approved ACOG classes for center participants.  Collaborate with other YMCA department staff. Completes YMCA and other training as directed. Act as a positive role model while implementing YMCA character development and following the four core values of Caring, Honesty, Responsibility, and Respect.  Attends YMCA meetings as required. Flexibility to work outside of CAL hours for special events. Performs other duties as assigned.   EMPLOYEES AND VOLUNTEERS WHO DO NOT DIRECTLY SUPERVISE YOUTH WILL: Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth. Attend required abuse risk management training. Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations. Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements. Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities. Maintenance employees and volunteers—ensure unused rooms and closets remain locked; routinely monitor high-risk locations (locker rooms and bathrooms, hallways, stairwells), etc. Front desk personnel—ensure youth are properly signed in and signed out, ensures only authorized adults are allowed in the facility, etc.  QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: At least 18 years of age High School Diploma preferred. Previous experience working in senior programming is preferred, but not required. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds. Background and experience teaching group exercise class with a current certification preferred or willingness to get certified. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Solid computer skills with the ability to efficiently navigate digital tools, manage data, and adapt to new technologies. CPR/First Aid Certification within 60 days of hire date or by the first available training date. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
