Warehouse Operations Manager (Hands-On Distribution & Shipping)

Hidden Talent is hiring on behalf of Alsico North America

Location: Shelbyville, Kentucky
Compensation: $70,000–$80,000 annually, based on experience
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site

Lead the Team. Keep Orders Moving. Get Things Done.

Are you an experienced warehouse leader who enjoys being on the floor, working alongside your team, and making sure operations run smoothly?

Hidden Talent is recruiting a Warehouse Operations Manager for Alsico North America, an established international company specializing in protective workwear and garments.

Alsico's growing Shelbyville distribution center needs a dependable, hands-on leader who can keep shipments moving, maintain order accuracy, communicate effectively with corporate leadership, and help a small team succeed.

This is not a desk-based management position. Approximately 70% of the workday involves hands-on warehouse activities. We're looking for someone who can confidently lead employees, use warehouse technology, follow established processes, and jump in wherever needed.

What You'll Do

Lead & Support Your Team

  • Supervise a small warehouse team of approximately 4 employees, with potential growth to five or more.
  • Set daily priorities, assign responsibilities, and keep the team productive and motivated.
  • Provide clear direction, coaching, and accountability while maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Lead by example and actively assist with warehouse operations.

Keep Warehouse Operations Running

  • Oversee daily picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory activities.
  • Ensure customer orders are packed correctly and shipped on time.
  • Work alongside employees to pick and pack orders, move materials, and operate forklifts as needed.
  • Maintain organized inventory, clear warehouse floors, and efficient material flow.
  • Identify shipping delays, order discrepancies, and operational issues before they become larger problems.
  • Follow established warehouse procedures and safety requirements.

Communicate & Execute

  • Maintain consistent, professional communication with Alsico's corporate team in Los Angeles.
  • Follow instructions and operational processes established by corporate leadership.
  • Provide updates on shipping progress, staffing, order backlogs, and operational challenges.
  • Use Microsoft Outlook, Teams, internal warehouse systems, and shipping software to coordinate daily operations.
  • Take initiative to resolve day-to-day issues while knowing when to communicate or escalate concerns.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous warehouse management or supervisory experience in a distribution, fulfillment, or shipping environment.
  • Proven ability to lead a small team, communicate expectations, and hold employees accountable.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and the ability to quickly learn warehouse software.
  • Experience with warehouse inventory systems, shipping processes, and order fulfillment.
  • Familiarity with UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or comparable shipping software is strongly preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize daily work.
  • Ability to follow established procedures while independently managing daily responsibilities.
  • Willingness to perform hands-on warehouse work alongside employees.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on warehouse leadership position requiring significant time on the warehouse floor. Essential duties include frequent standing, walking, bending, picking and packing orders, handling boxes, and operating warehouse equipment. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Why Join Alsico?

  • Competitive salary of $70,000–$80,000, based on experience.
  • Opportunity to lead and develop a growing warehouse team.
  • Join an established international company expanding its U.S. distribution operations.
  • Work in a collaborative environment where leadership, communication, and accountability matter.
  • Make a visible impact on daily operations and customer satisfaction.

Ready to Lead from the Floor?

If you're a warehouse leader who communicates clearly, stays organized, enjoys working alongside your team, and takes pride in getting orders out correctly and on time, we'd love to hear from you.
