Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for providing pharmaceutical services to patients and medical staff by interpreting and preparing medication orders from health care providers; assuring that pharmaceuticals dispensed are in accordance ICHS standards, policies and procedures, and federal and state laws, regulations and standards; and ensuring patients receive safe and appropriate medication therapy, with a focus on quality customer service and sensitivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter and process medication orders in the pharmacy system.
  • Prepare and fill prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Maintain inventory levels and assist in ordering medications and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sterility standards in the pharmacy.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients regarding medication information.

Skills:

The required skills of order entry and filling prescriptions are essential for ensuring that patients receive the correct medications in a timely manner. Proficiency with FAX machines and other communication tools will facilitate effective collaboration with healthcare providers. Reliability is crucial in this role, as it directly affects patient safety and care. Knowledge of sterilization techniques will help maintain a safe and clean environment, particularly in hospital settings. Additionally, showing respect and empathy towards patients will enhance their experience and foster trust in the pharmacy services.

Education - Completion of a state-certified Pharmacy Level-A Technician Program.
Experience - One (1) year of pharmacy experience preferred.
Other Requirement(s) - Active State of Washington Level-A Pharmacy Technician License.
