Contract: Zero hours contract

Working Hours: 4 on 4 off shift pattern, workingan average of 42 hours per week (days and nights available)

Pay: £13.02 per hour

Location: Shotton Paper Mill, WeighbridgeRoad, Deeside, CH5 2LW

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Anchor Group Servicesfor an experienced Security Officer to join our established security team basedat Shotton Paper Mill.

As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role inmaintaining the safety and security of a large industrial manufacturing site.Duties will include managing site access, carrying out regular site patrolsusing a company vehicle, monitoring site activity, responding to securityincidents, and providing a professional and welcoming presence for visitors,contractors, and employees.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all securityprocedures are followed, maintaining accurate records, carrying outinspections, and supporting the client in maintaining a safe and secure workingenvironment. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactiveapproach are essential.

The successful candidate must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor(DS) or Security Guarding (SG) licence as a minimum.

A valid CSCS card is essential for this role. Support can be provided to help you obtain this if needed.

Duties include:

  • Protecting the client’s property, people and/or assets byproviding security services in direct accordance with the sites publishedAssignment Instructions (AI’s) and site-specific procedures
  • Preventing losses and damage by reporting irregularities;informing offenders of policy and procedures
  • Preventing and escalating incidents in a timely, accurate andappropriate manner to the Control Room/ Shift Manager/OperationsManager/Emergency Services as appropriate for serious incidents
  • Operating and monitoring site CCTV equipment
  • Completing reports by recording observations, information,occurrences, and surveillance activities
  • Maintaining organisation's stability and reputation bycomplying with legal requirements
  • Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related resultsas needed
  • Acting as a first line support to customers and visitors tosite, providing a professional and friendly service
  • Understanding the needs of our customer, respond accordinglyto customer queries and requests and take appropriate action
  • Maintaining professional conduct at all times
  • Gatehouse duties – control siteaccess by verifying identification and logging vehicles, ensuring that onlyauthorised individuals enter the premises

Requirements

  • Essential: Full 5-year employment checkablehistory
  • Essential: Frontline SIA licence (DS or SG)
  • Essential: Valid UK Driving Licence
  • CSCS card required - Support can be provided to help you obtain this if needed.
  • A CCTV licence is desirable but not essential, provided youhave knowledge of CCTV systems.
  • Customer service experience and confidence to handle conflictin a correct manner
  • Flexible to meet the job requirements
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Smart appearance and be well-groomed
  • Reliable and punctual
  • High level of enthusiasm and passion
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment
