SUMMARY:

The IT Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining the technology systems that enable Active Generations to operate efficiently. This position provides organization-wide technical support, administers Microsoft 365, maintains hardware and software, assists with network infrastructure and cybersecurity, and supports technology projects, system integrations, automation, and process improvements. The IT Specialist works collaboratively with employees, vendors, and leadership to ensure reliable technology services while identifying innovative solutions that improve organizational operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide organization-wide technical support for computers, mobile devices, software, Microsoft 365, printers, user accounts, and connectivity issues.
  • Administer Microsoft 365, including user accounts, licensing, permissions, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, and related services.
  • Configure, deploy, maintain, repair, and replace technology equipment including computers, monitors, printers, phones, and peripherals.
  • Coordinate employee technology onboarding and offboarding, including equipment preparation, account management, access permissions, and documentation.
  • Assist with maintaining the organization's network infrastructure, wireless systems, security cameras, door access systems, and other connected technologies.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve technology issues while coordinating vendor support and escalating complex issues as appropriate.
  • Support software systems, databases, reporting tools, integrations, automations, and technology projects that improve organizational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows through technology, automation, artificial intelligence, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain technology inventory, equipment lifecycle records, support documentation, and user training materials.
  • Support organizational cybersecurity by maintaining user access, software updates, device security, backup procedures, and security awareness.
  • Provide employee technology training and promote best practices for the effective use of organizational technology.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of progressively responsible IT support, systems administration, or related experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Microsoft or other relevant technology certifications are preferred but not required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

Possesses strong technical aptitude and problem-solving abilities with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. This individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows operating systems, business software, computer hardware, mobile devices, printers, and basic networking concepts. The ability to troubleshoot technical issues, learn new technologies quickly, and adapt to changing systems is essential. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate documentation and attention to detail. The successful candidate must exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and safeguard organizational data and technology resources. The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with employees, vendors, and leadership is expected, as is a willingness to identify opportunities to improve processes through technology, automation, artificial intelligence, and other innovative solutions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the workday.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
  • Ability to operate computers and standard office equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel between Active Generations locations as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works primarily in an office environment while providing support throughout multiple Active Generations locations. Occasional work outside normal business hours may be required to support technology implementations, maintenance, or emergency situations.
