Best Western Ponderosa Lodge is searching for Part-Time Housekeepers to join our team. Workingclosely with the Housekeeping Supervisor and other departments, our Housekeepers cleanand prepare guest rooms and public areas by meeting established standards ofcleanliness and propriety to ensure guest satisfaction and maximize revenue. You will help promote an atmosphere ofcleanliness and superior care for hotel guests. This role is vital to the success of the property, and we encouragegrowth and professional advancement.

Job Responsibilities:

Maintains the hotel rooms and building to ensure a safe and cleanexperience for hotel guests and associates.
Sets up cleaning cart with supplies. Maintains carts andstorerooms in a clean and orderly fashion to enhance efficiency and ease ofcleaning rooms.
Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures inrooms, public areas, and hallways.
Washes shower walls and tubs, cleans toilets and stall walls.Wipes exposed pipes, cleans mirrors, sinks, and walls to ensure clean andsanitary guest and public restrooms.
Replaces towels, soaps and all room amenities and restocksliterature that has been removed by previous guest, or is soiled or torn, toensure adequate supply for arriving guests.
Washes all hard floor areas (linoleum, tile, etc.) by hand toremove dirt and soiled areas.
Dusts and polishes all furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings.
Strips bed of all linens and remakes with fresh linens.
Removes all trash/recycling from rooms.
Checks closet for cleanliness, wiping closet door, handle, andoverhead shelves and restocking the guest room supplies (e.g., hangers, extrablankets, extra pillows).
Vacuums rooms, public areas, and hallways.
Inspects door and window locks to ensure they are in working orderand immediately alerts management to an unsecured or unsafe situation for thesafety of guests and employees.
Checks lights and remotes to ensure all are in working order.
Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager orassistant manager.
Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor always.
Maintains customers’ privacy.
Maintains a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.
Must be dependable and on time.
Treats all coworkers with respect.
Adheres to all hotel policies and proceduresas outlined by hotel standards and Federal, State and Local laws, includingOSHA regulations.
Follows proper procedures in handlinghazardous substances.
Must use appropriate protective equipment as needed for job task.
Performs laundry attendant duties, when required.
Performs other duties as assigned.

SuccessfulCandidates Must Have:

Fourteenyears of age and older -- Fourteen through seventeen years of age will have amodified job description provided by Management.
Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaningproducts, and operation of standard cleaning equipment.
Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head,bending, and stooping to perform cleaning tasks.
Knowledge of surrounding areas and local events.
Abilityto work as part of a team and effectively communicate to the Housekeeping Supervisor, management, peers, and hotelguests .
Ability to communicate with guests,staff, and the public in a professional and hospitable manner.
Self-motivatedand ability to work and properly perform job duties and responsibilities withminimal supervision and/or in stressful situations.
Organizedand detail-oriented.
Abilityand willingness to take direction and supervision from management, and/or otherlead employees regarding job duties and task assignments.
Abilityto apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Abilityto deal with problems effectively and efficiently.
Ability towork a flexible schedule, including long or irregular hours, weekends, andholidays.
Ability tolearn and perform security, safety, emergency, and accident prevention policiesand procedures.
Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or upto 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, orotherwise move objects.
