Job DetailsJob Location: Camp Tallchief - Skiatook, OK 74070Position Type: Part TimeJob Category: ProgramsJob Summary The Outdoor Adventure Facilitator is tasked with consistently delivering quality outdoor experiences through activities, programs, and special events, while supporting our mission of “Building girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.” The Outdoor Facilitator is trained in a variety of areas to include archery, backpacking, hiking, high ropes course, horseback riding, low ropes course, outdoor survival skills, paddle sports, rappelling, swimming, and team building techniques. This position is seasonal, with dates of employment approximately August-November and March-May. This is a safety sensitive position   This is a safety sensitive position.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   Responsible for the adherence of the Safety Activity Checkpoints as directed by Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma and Girl Scouts of USA. Leads safe outdoor adventure experiences for diverse audiences providing a transformative, goal-oriented experience. Responsible for safety checks, cleanliness, upkeep, and basic maintenance/inspections for all equipment and structures. Manage the risk involved with outdoor education programs, including group management, activity-specific risks, and emotional and social boundaries. Maintain up-to-date skill sets and abilities in activity policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications Current First Aid/CPR certification or the ability to obtain one is required Wilderness First Aid is desired 1 year of experience working in the outdoor education/recreation field or with youth in other settings. Excellent communication, leadership and teambuilding skills. Proven ability to work with others. Ability to lead groups independently. Problem-solving mindset, with a desire to provide quality programming even in challenging situations. Ability to attend one or more paid training events. Ability to pass a background check. Ability to work long days on your feet in an outdoor setting. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays for adventure or other Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma events as needed. Physical and Schedule Requirements: Applicants must have the physical, visual, and auditory ability to perform essential functions of the job. Ability to work sustained periods of time outdoors in all weather and environmental conditions. Must be able to bend, stand, lean and kneel on a regular basis for an extended period. Must be able to safely self-transport over uneven terrain up to a mile or in confined spaces. Must be able to work in shared spaces with other employees.
