A Technical Project Manager (TPM) working within the globalDigital Technology Patient Solutions (DTPS) team, who leads technology-drivenprojects from initiation to delivery, acting as the bridge between DT teams andPatient Solutions (Pharmaceutical Research) stakeholders. They are responsiblefor project planning, risk mitigation, resource allocation, and ensuringsoftware or infrastructure projects meet quality standards on time and withinbudget.

We are primarily looking for a candidate that has a strongtechnical IT background that also has project management expertise, rather thana dedicated project manager. The role will be hands on, so the candidate willneed to be comfortable carrying out installations and configurations onProduction servers and workstations in a non-GxP environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Deployment: Overseeing all project phases, from initiation to go-live scientific systems within Patient Solutions scope.
  • Hands On Technical: Perform application installations and configurations on servers. Upgrade and lifecycle the centralised scientific platforms supporting the lab environment.
  • Project Management: Managing Global Patient Solutions Lab projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee scientific system upgrades, replacement and decommissioning activities within Patient Solutions scope.
  • Technical Oversight: Bridging technical (IT Infrastructure) and non-technical teams to turn high-level directives into actionable technical tasks.
  • Planning & Risk Mitigation: Developing detailed project plans, tracking progress, and identifying/resolving potential risks or issues.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Managing expectations with internal/external stakeholders and reporting progress to project sponsors.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Work with IT Security and Compliance leads to ensure Patient Solutions scope meets requirements and generate reports to reflect ongoing status. Using PowerShell scripts and LDAP queries to validate the data in reports.
  • Documentation & Process Improvement: Responsible for collating system documentation and reducing baseline operations by automating/streamlining process where possible.


Requirements

  • Technical Expertise: Experience in IT infrastructure, or system integration with at least 8 years of experience.
  • Project Management Expertise: Proficiency in Project Management with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Communication: Strong skills in negotiating and communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve technical challenges and manage project slippage.
  • Education: Typically requires a Higher National Certificates (HNC) or Higher National Diplomas (HND) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with relevant certifications.
