About the Role - IT Assistant Manager (IT & Network Support)​

We are looking for an experienced and technically skilled IT Assistant Manager – IT & Network Support to manage and support the organization's IT infrastructure, network, systems, and end-user IT operations. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of IT and network services across the campus.

The role will involve managing LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, switches, IT systems, end-user support, network monitoring, troubleshooting, and IT infrastructure projects. The candidate will also coordinate with vendors, ISPs, and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of IT and network-related issues.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field.

Experience

  • 4–7 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, and IT support.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory/team-lead role is preferred.
  • Experience managing enterprise or campus network infrastructure will be an advantage.

Technical Requirements

Network & Infrastructure

  • Manage and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, switches, routers, and network infrastructure.
  • Configure and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls, Ruckus Wi-Fi, switches, VLANs, routing, DHCP, DNS, and network services.
  • Monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization, availability, and connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot network outages, slow internet, Wi-Fi issues, and connectivity problems.
  • Manage network segmentation, VLANs, IP addressing, and access control.
  • Monitor and maintain network infrastructure across academic buildings, residences, offices, and other campus facilities.
  • Coordinate with ISP vendors for internet connectivity, bandwidth, downtime, and service-related issues.
  • Maintain network diagrams, configurations, IP plans, and infrastructure documentation.

IT Support & Operations

  • Manage day-to-day IT support for faculty, staff, learners, and other users.
  • Handle hardware and software troubleshooting for laptops, desktops, printers, projectors, AV systems, and other IT equipment.
  • Manage IT service requests, incidents, and escalations through the IT Help Desk.
  • Ensure timely resolution of IT issues and maintain proper ticket documentation.
  • Support user onboarding, device allocation, configuration, and IT asset management.
  • Coordinate with vendors for warranty, AMC, repairs, replacements, and technical support.

Management & Operational Requirements

  • Ability to manage an IT support/network team.
  • Strong incident management and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage IT projects, installations, upgrades, and infrastructure deployments.
  • Good documentation skills for SOPs, network diagrams, asset records, and incident reports.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports and provide regular updates to HOD.
  • Strong understanding of IT service management and SLA-based support.
