Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-3pm

Join Dena Marcus DDS, a respected general practice in the heart of Sonoma Wine Country, where clinical excellence and patient comfort are our priority. We're seeking an experienced Expanded Function Dental Assistant. You'll use modern technology (CEREC, digital x-rays, digital impressions, Open Dental software) in a patient-centered environment.


Responsibilities
  • Provide chairside assistance during patient procedures; prepare and organize treatment areas
  • Perform expanded clinical duties: take x-rays, place temporary restorations, remove sutures, perform coronal polishing, place sealants and fluoride as permitted by California RDA/RDAEF credentials
  • Operate CEREC and digital impression technology; manage Open Dental software and patient records
  • Sterilize instruments, maintain infection control standards, and manage inventory
  • Support patient comfort and anxiety management; assist with pain management techniques
  • Collaborate with Dr. Marcus and team to optimize clinical efficiency and patient experience
  • Perform administrative tasks: scheduling, patient communication, treatment planning support

Required Qualifications
  • Active RDAEF (Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions) license
  • 1–2 years documented chairside experience
  • Knowledge of California dental laws, expanded function scope of practice, and infection control protocols
  • Proficiency with dental software (Open Dental or equivalent) and Microsoft Office
  • Current CPR/BLS certification for healthcare providers and infection control certification
  • Ability to take direction from dentist and operate independently on routine procedures
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and commitment to patient care
