About the Role:

The Groundskeeper at Larkin Community Hospital (LCH) plays a vital role in maintaining the hospital’s outdoor environment to ensure it is safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing for patients, visitors, and staff. This position involves the upkeep of landscaping, including planting, trimming, and lawn care, to create a welcoming and therapeutic atmosphere. The Groundskeeper will also be responsible for routine maintenance tasks such as clearing debris, managing irrigation systems, and ensuring pathways and outdoor areas are hazard-free. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to support the hospital’s commitment to a healthy and professional environment. Ultimately, the Groundskeeper contributes to the overall patient experience by preserving the hospital grounds as a serene and well-maintained space.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to climb ladders and perform frequent bending and physical labor.
• Basic math skills including addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Willing to assist other Departments such as Plant Operations if needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a healthcare or institutional setting.
• Knowledge of basic equipment repair.
• Demonstrated professionalism and positive attitude in a work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform regular landscaping duties including mowing, trimming, planting, and watering to maintain healthy and attractive grounds.
• Inspect and maintain outdoor equipment and tools, ensuring they are in safe working condition.
• Follow oral and written instructions to complete daily work orders and special projects efficiently.
