Dental Assistant – Oral Surgery (Surgical Assistant)
Location: Southington, CT (potential travel to Vernon location)
Hours: Full-time (30+ hours/week) | Monday–Friday (flexible 4-5 days/week)

We are growing and seeking an experienced, detail‑oriented, and compassionate Surgical Assistant who can step in confidently and contribute immediately in a fast-paced surgical setting. This role is best suited for someone with prior hands-on oral surgery and IV sedation experience who thrives in a collaborative, high-performance team.

What You’ll Do

As a Surgical Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our surgeon during all phases of care, with a strong focus on chairside surgical and sedation support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with oral surgery procedures, including extractions, implants, and related surgical treatments
  • Supporting IV sedation cases, including patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery
  • Maintaining strict aseptic and infection control protocols
  • Preparing and managing surgical instruments, equipment, and operatories
  • Monitoring patient vital signs and status during procedures
  • Obtaining dental radiographs and imaging
  • Providing pre- and post-operative patient care and instructions
  • Accurately documenting clinical notes and surgical details
  • Ensuring compliance with all clinical and safety standards
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

What You Bring

  • Prior hands-on oral surgery assisting experience, including IV sedation cases (required)
  • Ability to work efficiently and confidently in a fast-paced surgical environment with minimal ramp-up
  • BLS certification (required)
  • ICE certification (required)
  • Radiology certification (DANB RHS or equivalent) required
  • DAANCE certification strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterilization, and infection control
  • Excellent patient care skills with a calm, professional demeanor
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and ability to anticipate surgeon needs
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and adaptable
