Overview: An Orthodontic Dental Assistant supports orthodontists in providing specialized dental care focused on correcting teeth alignment and jaw positioning. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare patients for orthodontic procedures by explaining treatments and ensuring comfort. Sterilize and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and treatment areas. Place and remove orthodontic appliances, separators, and arch wires under the orthodontist’s supervision. Record patient information, treatment progress, and updates in dental software systems. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and care for orthodontic appliances. Manage appointment scheduling, patient check-ins, and follow-up visits. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure treatment rooms are fully stocked. Support the orthodontist in maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.
