FUNCTION:  

Responsible for accurately counting and recording the currency drops from various revenue generating areas in the casino. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Consistently follow all Nevada Gaming Control Board and Nugget count and drop procedures.
  1. Responsible for handling large volumes of cash, counting, sorting, bundling, and recording cash. 
  2. Collect cash and tickets from each slot machine, each table in the table games area, kiosk machines, and any other machine or revenue area as instructed and appropriate.
  3. Effectively perform the functions of counting, sorting, strapping, racking, transporting, and recording of all funds in the count operation.
  4. Maintain proficiency in operation of all programs and equipment used in the drop and count process.
  5. Ensure adequate cleaning and maintenance of all drop and count equipment.
  6. Produce and maintain accurate count team data.
  7. Ensure all monies collected balance at the end of the count. 
  8. Identify counterfeit bills, coupons, etc. and notify the Cage Manager and/or Accounting Manager. 
  9. Accurately use computers to enter or retrieve data. 
  10. Ensure all validators are properly dropped on the casino floor, and numbers on cans match the source. 
  11. Open all drop boxes, empty cans of currency and run all currency through the currency counter per established procedures. 
  12. When performing validator drops on the floor ensure courtesy and professionalism to all guests. 
  13. Establish and maintain effective channels of communication with all levels of the Nugget team and guests. 
  14. Using the Nugget’s system of recognition, recognize team members who are going “above and beyond” as appropriate.
  15. Knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
  16. Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike. 
  17. Immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, and the Safety Manager. 
  18. Maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same.
  19. Regular predictable attendance is required.
  20. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:      Soft Count Supervisor

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 21 years of age. 

 

EDUCATION LEVEL:

High School diploma or equivalent is required.

 

LANGUAGE:

Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language. 

 

EXPERIENCE:  

Minimum 1 year experience in a large volume cash handling position preferred. 

 

SPECIAL SKILLS:

 

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

Employee Gaming registration required. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift, and move product up to 50 lbs.

Fine finger manipulation. 

Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels.

Work may be performed indoors and outdoors during special events.
